Tracing the source of a vibration problem
How we isolate cause from symptom on a live site.
How we isolate cause from symptom on a live site.
Vibration complaints rarely point at the actual source. A rumble in an office can start in a plant room two floors down, or in a process that only runs on the night shift.
We isolate cause from symptom by measuring at the complaint location and then working back through the structure — floors, frames, pipework, and machines — until the path is clear. Guessing at damping without that path usually wastes money.
Short attended measurements, a few well-placed sensors, and a conversation with the people who run the kit. The investigation can identify specific machinery, mountings or structural transmission paths.
We trace vibration from the complaint back through the structure to the source. Tell us about the site.
